My name is Denise Grieve, I’m originally from Edinburgh, Scotland, and moved to France in 2011 with my husband. We love our new life here in the South West of France, where we have always felt at home. We renovated our old farmhouse, adopted many abandoned, abused and sick dogs, and I became an English teacher at a school for children with psychological and emotional disorders.
This I have been teaching in France for over ten years. For the past five years I have also run private English classes. Initially these clsses were held in the town hall at Gaillc d’Aveyron. As the size of the classes increased, I decided to hold all my groups at my house. I decided to do this because I felt it offered a more intimate and relaxed enviroment.
We have have tea and coffee, and if my husband has not eaten all the biscuits and cakes, then we also have them.
This is an important part of the lesson as it allows people in the group to relaxe and get to know one another, and hopefuly practise their English and build up their confidence.
